Business Development Manager

Full Time
Cardiff/Hybrid
Up to £60,000 basic with an OTE of £100,000 plus

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth across Codiance’s public sector portfolio, with a focus on Local Authorities, Higher Education institutions, and Housing Associations (Tier 2).

The role is primarily responsible for creating and shaping new opportunities ahead of formal procurement, finding short-term opportunities outside of formal tenders. The role will also support the development of strategic partnerships and framework-based opportunities to enable access to larger and more complex public sector programmes (Tier 1)

Your Core Objectives Will Be:

  • Generate qualified, influenced new business opportunities within Tier 2 public sector
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships that position Codiance as a trusted partner
  • Grow revenue from existing public sector clients through strategic account management growth
  • Increase Codiance’s visibility and success within Tier 1 public sector frameworks and partner-led bids.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential

  • Develop and maintain relationships with senior decision makers across target sectors.
  • Generate new business opportunities through pre-procurement engagement, direct awards and framework call-offs.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline to achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Represent Codiance through networking, events and business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, opportunity tracking and account plans.

  • Consultative and solution-based sales techniques.
  • Senior stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Pipeline development, opportunity qualification and sales forecasting.
  • CRM management and reporting.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of UK public sector procurement processes.
  • Experience working with government frameworks such as G-Cloud and DOS.
  • Understanding of digital transformation and technology services.
  • Partnership and channel development capabilities.
  • Bid writing and tender support experience.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven success in a business development or sales role.
  • Experience engaging with senior-level decision makers.
  • Demonstrable achievement of revenue and growth targets.
  • Experience managing opportunities from prospecting through to contract award.
  • Experience using CRM systems and producing pipeline and forecast reports.

Desirable

  • Experience selling digital, technology or consultancy services.
  • Experience working with public sector organisations.
  • Experience securing business through frameworks, direct awards or pre-procurement engagement.
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships and partner-led opportunities.
  • Experience representing an organisation at industry events and networking activities.
