ABOUT IONETIC
IONETIC is a software-accelerated, end-to-end battery pack design and manufacturing company, on a mission to make electrification possible and compelling for every manufacturer on the planet. Our platform, Arc, generates a production-ready pack configuration in minutes rather than months, and takes hardware into series production three times faster than traditional approaches.
We build packs for automotive, bus, marine, and off-highway customers, from our R&D lab in London and our Battery Fabrication and Industrialisation Centre in Brackley.
THE ROLE
This is the commercial engine room of the company, and it sits directly alongside the CEO.
You will own the front end of our commercial effort: creating pipeline, qualifying it hard, and driving opportunities to a decision. The remit is deliberately broad. In a single week you will move between business development, commercial operations, marketing, and strategic projects, and you will be expected to pick things up rather than wait to be asked.
We are hiring one person to do this, not a team. That is the opportunity and it is also the bar.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Create pipeline from a standing start: target list, outreach, first conversation, qualification.
- Drive opportunities to close alongside the CEO and our engineering leads, including proposals, quotations, and commercial terms.
- Represent IONETIC at customer sites and industry events, and convert that activity into tracked pipeline.
- Own the CRM, the forecast, and the commercial reporting the leadership team and board rely on.
- Sharpen how we sell: qualification criteria, proposal templates, pricing inputs, follow-up discipline.
- Shape how we position Arc to each market, and produce the material that carries the argument.
- Run demand generation campaigns and measure what they actually return.
- Take on strategic projects with the CEO: partnerships, new market entry, investor-facing commercial work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role suits a high performer who wants the scope and will not need chasing. If you are looking for a defined patch and a quiet quarter, this is not it.
- A self-starter. You will be handed a market and a mandate, not a script. You decide where to aim and you move first.
- Highly motivated and competitive. You measure yourself on closed business, not activity.
- Commercially credible. A track record of opportunities you personally sourced and closed in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Technically fluent. Able to hold your own with engineers on the customer side and translate their requirement back to our team.
Clean pipeline, honest forecast, sharp written work. This material goes to customers, the board, and investors.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- Comfortable with pace and ambiguity. Priorities move weekly and you will work directly with a founder.
- Advantageous: experience selling into automotive, bus, marine, off-highway, or defence OEMs and Tier 1s; exposure to electrification, battery, or high-voltage products; time in an early-stage company where the commercial function was built rather than inherited.
WHAT WE WILL GIVE YOU
- Room to grow without a ceiling. You are the first dedicated commercial hire. The function that gets built here is yours to lead as it scales.
- Direct access to the C-suite. You report to the CEO and co-founder and work daily with the wider leadership team. Decisions get made in the room, not escalated out of it.
- Serious support behind you. Experienced market advisors, specialist contractors, and our senior leadership are available to you on live deals, not held in reserve.
- Engineering and product firepower. Our technical team supports customer conversations directly, so you are never selling something you cannot back up.
- A product that is genuinely differentiated. Arc supports hundreds of thousands of pack configurations across four cell form factors and a range of chemistries, on an ISO 9001 certified quality system.
- Real visibility. Your work is seen by the board and investors, and it shows up in the company's numbers within weeks.
