We're looking for a commercially focused Business Development Manager to join our Municipal Collections team. You'll play a key role in winning new business and growing existing contracts, leading tenders from solution development and pricing through to compelling written submissions and client presentations. Working collaboratively across the business and with customers, partners and industry contacts, you'll identify new opportunities, stay ahead of market and legislative developments, and help deliver our ambitious growth plans.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tender opportunities from initial development through to submission, including operational solutions, pricing, commercial proposals and presentations
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the Municipal Collections sector, while supporting the growth and development of existing contracts
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, partners, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support business development and secure future opportunities
- Develop compelling bid content and presentations, bringing together expertise from across the business to create commercially strong and customer-focused solutions
- Stay ahead of industry developments, including emerging technologies, innovation, market trends and legislation, identifying opportunities to enhance our services
- Provide commercial and contractual support to regional teams, helping to develop service proposals, variation opportunities and wider contract growth
- Collaborate across the business to support strategic projects and contribute to the delivery of the company's wider growth and business plan

Our Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working in a tendering, bidding, pricing or business development environment, with a track record of producing high-quality written submissions
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to develop pricing, proposals and solutions that meet customer and business requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients and engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised with strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and with external partners
- Strong attention to detail, with good numeracy and analytical skills and confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel
- A good understanding of the waste industry or municipal services, with the ability to keep up to date with industry, legislative and technological developments
- Willingness to travel when required and work flexibly to meet business and tender deadlines
