Our diverse team of engineers and consultants deliver highly innovative R&D programs and transformational consultancy projects with some of the most exciting manufacturing, technology, academic and governmental organisations.
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team to be responsible for building new client accounts for HSSMI and support the team to secure sales of our engineering and consultancy services. The salary starts at £50,000.

The BDM role will work closely with HSSMI’s technical, leadership and marketing teams to share business development insights, develop new leads and secure sales from new accounts.
This is an important role to support HSSMI’s growth ambitions.
Accountabilities and how you will contribute:
- Develop new commercial relationships for HSSMI (manufacturing clients, commercial partnerships and other sources of revenue).
- Deliver a robust pipeline of new qualified commercial leads for HSSMI.
- Attend relevant trade shows and conferences to grow the HSSMI brand in target areas.
- Drive digital outreach and execute marketing campaigns to generate leads and build relationships with new prospects and partners.
- Disseminate gathered market trends, insights and industry news with the internal technical and leadership teams.
- Work with the internal teams to progress leads into sales.
About you and your experience:
- Extensive knowledge of the UK and European manufacturing sector, in particular automotive and aerospace.
- Established network to decision makers and key actors in the UK and European manufacturing sector.
- Good communicator and evidence of building new business relationships.
- Knowledge of key technological trends and innovations in the manufacturing sector.
- Demonstrable experience in sales generation of consultancy, advisory or service-based projects.
