The Opportunity:
The Business Development Director plays a key role in growing our business by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and contributing to the company sales strategy.
This role combines strategic planning, closing high-value sales leads, and market development to expand our growing presence in Scotland and the North, ensuring long-term sustainable growth.
Location: Hybrid (Working from Home) Scotland—travel for client visits and meetings as and when required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a commercial role, ideally within the new build residential housing sector.
- Strong understanding of the new build housing market, B2B sales, and complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, tenders, proposals, and negotiations.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and housebuilders.
- A results-driven approach with a proven ability to win new business and achieve revenue targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to pitch solutions and influence decision-makers.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce and analyzing sales and market data to inform commercial decisions.
- Knowledge of heat networks and/or heat pump technologies would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the regional new build residential market, building relationships with regional and national housebuilders.
- Manage and grow a strong sales pipeline, from initial enquiry through to proposal, negotiation, and conversion, while achieving agreed sales targets.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and ensuring Rendesco’s solutions deliver commercial and operational value.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Projects, and Finance teams to support regional growth, successful project delivery, and commercial strategy.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and inform product and pricing strategy.
- Manage CRM activity, sales forecasting, and KPIs, providing regular updates and market insights to the Head of New Build Sales.
- Support client engagement and entertainment activities, alongside other duties required to effectively deliver the role.
