Business Development Manager – Technology Consultancy

Location: London – Hybrid (2–3 days per week in office)
Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 base + OTE up to 2x base
Type: Permanent

We’re working with a growing specialist technology consultancy that delivers bespoke software and engineering solutions for enterprise organisations.

As they continue to grow their commercial presence in London, they’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join the team and focus on building relationships, generating new opportunities and developing enterprise pipeline.

This isn't a traditional BDM role. Rather than being focused on high-volume outbound activity or carrying a traditional closing quota, this is a field-first, relationship-led position built around getting in front of the right people and creating opportunities through industry events, conferences and face-to-face networking.

You’ll identify the organisations and decision-makers you want to engage with ahead of events, build relationships with senior enterprise stakeholders and own the follow-up afterwards. Your focus will be on opening doors, understanding potential client requirements and qualifying genuine opportunities before bringing in the senior commercial team to take them through to close.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidates coming exclusively from off-the-shelf SaaS, software licence or subscription sales are unlikely to be suitable. The business is particularly interested in candidates who have sold bespoke, consultative technology engagements where each project is scoped around the individual client's requirements.

Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.

If you're a commercially driven Business Development professional who enjoys getting out into the market, building relationships and creating opportunities face-to-face, rather than spending your entire week behind a desk, I'd love to hear from you.
