About the Role
Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven sales professional who thrives in a target-driven environment and is passionate about identifying new business opportunities while developing long-term customer relationships.
The successful candidate will take ownership of several key market verticals across the UK, manage several strategic key accounts, and play a vital role in delivering the company's ambitious growth plans.
Working closely with our technical, marketing and customer support teams, you will be responsible for generating new business, developing existing customer relationships and promoting our innovative portfolio of security screening and detection solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities across assigned market sectors.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic key accounts throughout the UK.
- Build strong relationships with end users, consultants, contractors and distribution partners.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, product demonstrations and site visits.
- Produce quotations, proposals and tender responses where required.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast using the company CRM system (HubSpot preferred).
- Ensure all customer interactions, opportunities and activities are recorded within the CRM.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Represent the company at exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
- Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Travel throughout the UK as required, with occasional overseas travel where appropriate.

About You
We're looking for someone who is energetic, commercially aware and enjoys building relationships. You will be self-motivated, organised and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining a strong focus on delivering results.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Business Development, Territory Sales or Account Management role.
- Demonstrable success working in a target-driven sales environment.
- Strong new business development skills with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
- Experience managing key customer accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Highly organised with strong time management abilities.
- Experience using CRM software, ideally HubSpot.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within the security technology, security screening, detection, defence, public sector or related industries.
- Experience selling capital equipment or technical solutions.
- Knowledge of tender processes and framework agreements.
- Experience working with distributors and resellers.
