Business Development Manager - Red Cross Training

Location: UK flexible (Hybrid, but with regular meetings in Salford, Greater Manchester)
Salary Range: £29,615 - £30,945 per annum, plus commission
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Permanent

Are you a natural relationship builder? Do you love spotting new business opportunities? As our Business Development Manager your main mission is simple: boost revenue from both new and existing accounts.

You’ll manage the customer journey from prospect and opportunity development through to implementation and ongoing account growth. You’ll nurture relationships, ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout. Thinking big and small, you’ll identify both quick wins and long-term business opportunities. You’ll be the face of Red Cross Training (RCT), making regular client contact and deeply understanding what our clients need.

What will a day in the life of a Business Development Manager involve?

  • Managing and developing existing partnerships and relationships with our customers to achieve revenue growth targets.
  • Working with the Client Relationship Manager to develop a tailored service package where appropriate.
  • Increasing the services that the customers use RCT to provide.
  • Making face-to-face client presentations and proposals.
  • Using contact reports, spreadsheets, Power BI, and other tools to analyse performance. Thus, helping spot opportunities and inform sales strategy.
  • Using HubSpot CRM to manage communications, track activity and maintain an accurate pipeline.

To be a successful Business Development Manager, what will you need?

  • Thorough knowledge of the sales process from initial proposals through to final negotiations.
  • Business development experience gained from face-to-face customer contact.
  • Proven track record of generating income from sales in a competitive price driven environment.
  • Organised & Efficient: Proven organisational skills, time-management, and account management.
  • Effective time management, setting priorities, and staying on top of a busy, dynamic workload.
  • Presenting and negotiation skills, with a keen understanding of balancing profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Proposal writing, contract/SLA writing.
  • Working knowledge of basic contracts and tenders and experience of selling training or service solutions.
