About The Company

A growing construction business is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in Worcester. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong business-to-business relationships within the construction sector, driving sales growth and managing key accounts.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and business growth within the construction industry
  • Manage key client accounts, ensuring excellent customer service and long-term partnerships
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential clients through research and networking
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentations and proposals to prospective clients
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable sales
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project management and operations, to ensure client requirements are met
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform business development strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client communications using company systems

Required Qualifications

  • Full, valid driving licence

Experience

  • Proven experience in account management and sales within the construction industry
  • Demonstrable success in achieving sales targets and developing client relationships

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the construction sector and its sales processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in using standard office software and customer relationship management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in sales or business development
  • Experience working within a growing construction business

Working Conditions

  • Based primarily in the Worcester office with regular visits to client sites across the Midlands
  • Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet client needs
  • Use of a company car allowance for travel to meetings and site visits
