Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM)

Department: Sales / Commercial

Reporting to: Sales Director

Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding Starlinks Global’s market presence. This role is proactive, commercially focused, and central to the company’s growth strategy. The BDM embodies Starlinks Global’s core values—putting customers first, collaborating across teams, taking ownership, and striving for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Acquisition

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned markets, sectors, or territories.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects to achieve or exceed agreed revenue targets.
  • Conduct high-quality prospecting, outreach, and engagement to generate qualified leads.
  • Build long-term relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and potential partners.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with Starlinks Global’s growth objectives.
  • Present tailored solutions and proposals to meet customer needs and add value.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts to secure new business opportunities.

Market & Competitor Insight

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments.
  • Provide market intelligence to support strategic planning and identify potential threats or opportunities.

Collaboration & Customer Advocacy

  • Work closely with Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and other internal teams to ensure a smooth handover of new accounts.
  • Be the customer’s champion internally, ensuring their requirements and expectations are understood and addressed.

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activity, opportunities, and communications in CRM systems.
  • Monitor progress against targets and provide regular updates to management.
  • Report on sales performance, pipeline status, and market feedback to inform decision-making.

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or eCommerce solutions.
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.

  • Organised, disciplined, and data-driven in CRM management.
