I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll be selling a solution rather than a simple commodity, working with a varied mix of private and public-sector organisations.
You'll have responsibility for developing your pipeline, meeting prospective customers and ultimately converting opportunities into long-term commercial relationships.
Your role will include:
- Prospecting and developing new customers
- Conducting presentations and meetings
- Preparing commercial proposals
- Negotiating terms and pricing
- Working with internal teams to make sure what has been promised is successfully delivered
- Representing the business at relevant industry events
- Using your knowledge of the market to identify new opportunities for growth
What we're looking for
You don't necessarily need to have worked in exactly the same sector.

We're much more interested in finding somebody who understands consultative, solution-led B2B sales and has a track record of winning new business.
Your background could potentially include:
- Security
- Facilities Management
- Construction
- Compliance
- Building Services
- Engineering
- Technical Services
- Other solution-led B2B environments
You'll be comfortable generating your own opportunities, meeting senior decision-makers face-to-face and managing a sales process from initial conversation through to signed agreement.
Most importantly, we're looking for somebody with the energy and commercial drive to go out and develop a market rather than waiting for opportunities to arrive.
If you're currently in a solution-sales environment and feel you've reached the point where you'd like more earning potential and the opportunity to genuinely own your market, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
