Business Development Manager
£35,000 + Commission | Hybrid | Wolverhampton
MET Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established and respected organisation based in Wolverhampton.
This is not an account management role. You’ll be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities, engaging with businesses across the region and managing prospects through the full sales cycle.
The role
As Business Development Manager, you will:
- Proactively identify and develop new B2B opportunities
- Generate your own leads through outbound activity, LinkedIn, referrals, networking and events
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
- Engage with business owners, MDs, CEOs and senior decision-makers
- Conduct consultative meetings to understand individual business needs
- Present tailored solutions and demonstrate clear commercial value
- Prepare proposals and presentations
- Manage opportunities from initial contact through to close
- Work towards monthly and annual new-business targets
- Attend networking events, exhibitions and business forums across the region
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline activity
- Work collaboratively with internal teams on targeted campaigns and lead-generation activity

About you
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience
- A strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Experience generating your own leads and developing new business
- Confidence managing the full sales cycle
- Experience engaging with senior-level decision-makers
- Strong communication, negotiation and closing skills
- A consultative approach to selling
- Good commercial awareness
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline and activity
- A proactive, resilient and self-motivated approach

Experience within professional services, business services, subscriptions or another B2B solution-led environment would be particularly relevant, although we're open to different sector backgrounds where you can demonstrate a successful new-business track record.
