Business Development Manager
We are working with a fast-growing space technology start-up developing innovative capabilities across space services, advanced testing and next-generation optical materials. As the business moves from technology development towards commercialisation, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to build and lead their commercial activity.
Reporting directly to the Founder, this is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to sell emerging, technically complex capabilities before they become established products. You will be responsible for turning the company's technology roadmap into real customer relationships, commercial agreements and revenue.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the commercial pipeline across several complementary technology areas, identifying target markets, developing relationships and taking opportunities from initial discovery through to contract.
The role will suit someone comfortable operating where the proposition is still evolving. Rather than selling an established catalogue, you'll need to understand customer problems, communicate credibly with technical stakeholders and work closely with engineering to shape solutions that can ultimately be delivered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
