CheckFire – serving the fire trade since 1975. With 50 years’ experience in the Fire Safety, nobody knows the trade better. We have established a proven track record of excellence and have earned the respect of our customers by delivering quality products and dependable service. As the market leader in the Fire Trade, we offer an unparalleled level of capability and reliability. Our stocks are enormous, our service is personal, and our promises are genuine.

About the Role

Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and delivering results? We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving growth across the Midlands and Wales region.

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage and develop an established customer base while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a customer portfolio of primarily independent fire protection companies within the Midlands/Wales Region.
  • Attainment of agreed budgeted targets based upon a mix of new business, existing business and additional revenue streams with the Midlands/Wales region.
  • Business planning: defined business plan in place for the Midlands/Wales region, collate appropriate information to present a plan & performance data to achieve budgeted sales, and ensure plan is maintained for regular reviews.
  • Conduct customer GAP analysis to identify further opportunities within customer base.
  • Manage own journey planning and appointment setting, with a rolling 3 week journey plan in place.
  • Nurture new account relationships on commercially viable terms.
  • Foster, develop and deliver excellent customer relationships.
  • Work in tandem with the internal account management team to develop business with existing customers.
  • Identify new customer opportunities with the Midlands/Wales Region, and coordinate new customer acquisition with the Pipeline Executive.
  • Promote CheckFire services, e.g. Recycling, Supply Chain Solutions, and Training Academy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
