The Mission: Rebuild the UK Energy Grid

Are you ready to sit at the heart of the Net Zero transition?

Our client is a rapidly scaling market disruptor seeking a Business Development Manager who doesn't just want a job, they want to be the engine room for high-value infrastructure deals.

We need a dynamic, socially assertive hustler who understands that the UK’s energy future is built on BESS, Substations, and Control Buildings.

The Role:

We have the engineering expertise and the product; we need the dynamism to open the doors. You will focus on the Midlands, North East, and Scotland, targeting Tier 1 and Tier 2 EPCs, DNOs, and major energy infrastructure players.

  • Hunt & Qualify: You won’t just manage accounts; you’ll map the market, identify the right stakeholders (even if that means finding them at the pub after a trade event), and build trust-based relationships.
  • Strategic Campaigning: Build and execute creative, multi-channel outreach campaigns. If LinkedIn doesn't work, you call; if they don't answer, you find another way in.
  • Rapid Scale Support: Work alongside senior leadership to structure complex infrastructure deals. You'll be highly visible and responsible for updating the CRM to show the growth of your opportunities.
  • Sector Immersion: Quickly master the technical nuances of substation housing and control buildings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Profile

  • Experience: 3+ years in a commercial/BD role. Exposure to Energy, EPCs, or Trade Associations is highly desirable. We value aptitude and attitude over a pre-existing contact list.
  • Social Assertiveness: You are self-assured and confident under scrutiny. You can walk into a room, build morale, and make connections naturally.
  • The Hustle: You are a visual learner who isn't afraid to get on-site, see the product being built, and then go out and sell the solution.
  • Location: Ideally based with easy access to the Midlands, Manchester, or Glasgow. We value a team environment and want someone who thrives on collaboration, even in a remote-first business.
