We're Hiring: Business Development Manager – Events & Marketing Solutions
Location: London, Whitechapel (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)
Ready to take your sponsorship sales career to the next level?
At HSJ, we're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing Events & Marketing Solutions team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing high-value sponsorship partnerships across some of the UK's leading healthcare events, including the HSJ Patient Safety Awards and our new Safety & Quality Leaders' Summit.
You'll be joining an established and respected brand, with access to an extensive network of NHS leaders, healthcare suppliers and industry decision-makers.
The Opportunity
This is a predominantly new business-focused role, ideal for someone who thrives on identifying opportunities, winning new clients and building lasting commercial relationships.
You'll be responsible for:
- Driving new business revenue through sponsorship and commercial partnerships.
- Identifying, approaching and securing new clients across the UK healthcare sector.
- Managing sponsorship opportunities typically valued between £8,000 and £40,000.
- Developing tailored commercial solutions that align with clients' marketing and business objectives.
- Growing existing accounts and identifying opportunities for long-term partnerships.
- Collaborating with our Sales, Marketing, Production, Operations and Editorial teams to deliver successful campaigns.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident, proactive sales professional who enjoys the challenge of winning new business and making a real commercial impact.
You'll bring:
- Proven sponsorship or event sales experience, ideally within healthcare or a related industry.
- A successful track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to develop compelling sponsorship proposals.
- A proactive, results-driven approach with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
- An interest in the UK healthcare landscape and the opportunities facing NHS suppliers and partners.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working as part of a wider team.
