Business Development Manager
Location: Exeter
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sustainable growth across our Building business in the South West. This is a key role responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and supporting the continued growth of our regional business.
Working closely with senior leadership, pre-construction and operational teams, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our market presence, expanding our client base, and helping to shape the future direction of the business.
As our Business Development Manager, you will:
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across both public and private sector markets, supporting the achievement of regional growth objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, framework partners and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted ambassador for the business.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, working collaboratively with pre-construction and operational teams to ensure a seamless transition from opportunity to project delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and inform business strategy.
- Represent the business at networking events, industry forums and client meetings, enhancing the company's profile and reputation within the construction sector.

About You
You will be an experienced business development professional with a successful track record of winning work within the construction industry and developing long-term client relationships.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in business development within the construction or related industry, with a strong record of securing new opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK construction market, procurement routes and key frameworks.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness, organisational skills and experience managing opportunities through CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively across multiple teams.
