Job Title: Business Development Manager - Commercial Contract Cleaning Sector

Company: Green Machine SW Ltd

Reporting to: Company directors

Job Type: Full time – Permanent – Hybrid Role

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 (based on experience) + uncapped commission

Experience:

Business development role within the commercial cleaning sector – 4 years plus

Location:

Southwest region (Candidates will need to be Southwest based)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced BDM to be responsible for generating leads for our Commercial Contract Cleaning business and meeting sales targets. Duties will include sales presentations, negotiating contracts with potential clients and developing long-term relationships with a growing client base.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and superb interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a sales or business development role in this market is preferred.

Reporting to the company sales and development director, the purpose of the role is to gain profitable new contract commercial cleaning business within our business region to a sales target of £1.5 million per annum.

Candidates should have a professional appearance, excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of writing top quality bid/tender documents. A full UK driving licence is also required.

The Role:

  • Generating new commercial cleaning opportunities.
  • Prospecting and developing new business relationships.
  • Attending appointments with prospective clients.
  • Carrying out professional site surveys.
  • Preparing and presenting cleaning proposals and tender documents.
  • Negotiating and securing new commercial cleaning contracts.
  • Working closely with the Operations Team to ensure a smooth mobilisation of new contracts.
  • Building long-term relationships with clients to maximise retention and future opportunities.
  • Representing Green Machine SW Ltd in a smart, professional manner at all times.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record in Business Development or B2B sales.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confidence presenting proposals to decision-makers.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A smart, professional appearance.

Commercial cleaning or Facilities Management experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
