Business Development Manager

Remote | Basic salary + commission
OTE: £80,000

Warm, qualified leads. Commission on the business you win. The opportunity to build a sales career in a firm with serious ambition.

I’m recruiting for an accountancy, tax and advisory business whose founder is hosting an event on Richard Branson’s private island, Necker, with guests representing £4 billion in wealth, alongside launching an exclusive private members’ club for successful entrepreneurs.

Behind the business is an extensive network of influential entrepreneurs, founders and business leaders. Those connections reach well beyond its accountancy client base, creating opportunities to build relationships, introduce new services and grow the business.

For an ambitious salesperson, it’s a compelling time to join: an established network, investment in generating new enquiries and the opportunity to help turn that momentum into sales.

The opportunity

The firm is looking for an experienced salesperson to take ownership of converting warm, qualified enquiries into accountancy clients.

  • You’ll speak directly with business owners who have already expressed an interest in its services.
  • Marketing and initial discovery will support the pipeline, giving you qualified opportunities to work with.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your job is to understand their business, explain the value of the right accountancy package and close the sale.

Alongside winning clients, you’ll help shape how the firm sells: what works in a conversation, how opportunities are followed up and how the sales process develops as demand grows.

As the function expands, there is scope to take on greater responsibility, potentially including supporting and leading future sales hires.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking sales calls with warm, qualified prospects generated through marketing campaigns and existing enquiries.
  • Understanding each owner’s current challenges and what they need from their accountant.
  • Recommending the appropriate service, explaining pricing and handling objections confidently.
  • Closing business on the first call where appropriate and managing follow-up through to a decision.
  • Revisiting previous enquiries and identifying opportunities to introduce existing clients to additional services.
  • Working with the accountancy and advisory teams to ensure a smooth handover.
  • Helping develop a consistent, effective sales process.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have experience selling B2B services or solutions and a track record of personally closing business.

  • Your background could be in accountancy or tax services, business finance, software, consultancy or another sector where understanding the customer’s business is central to the sale.
  • You don’t need to be an accountant. You do need to be comfortable speaking with business owners, asking good questions and making a clear commercial case for the service you’re selling.
  • You’ll be motivated by winning business and earning commission, confident asking for the sale and disciplined about following opportunities through.
  • You’ll also want room to progress, contribute ideas and take on more responsibility as the business grows.

Why join?

  • Warm, qualified opportunities supported by investment in marketing and initial discovery.
  • Commission linked to the business you win, alongside a basic salary.
  • Remote working.
  • The opportunity to shape a growing sales function, with your contribution visible to the leadership team.
  • Scope to progress as the firm expands its services and sales team.
  • An entrepreneurial environment backed by an extensive network of founders and business leaders.
