Business Development Manager
Envisage Group | Coventry | Hybrid: 3–4 days in the office per week | Permanent
Help grow an engineering and manufacturing business, and open doors into new markets. Envisage Group is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to win new business, develop existing customer relationships and support our expansion into sectors including aerospace and defence.
Our capabilities span design, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing. You’ll connect those capabilities with customer needs, working closely with our technical and commercial teams to turn opportunities into successful projects.
The role
Reporting to the Technical Business Development Manager, you’ll take an outward-facing role across new business development and account growth.
You will:
- Identify, qualify and secure new opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
- Grow current accounts by building relationships with new contacts, teams and divisions.
- Develop relationships with OEMs, prime contractors and supply-chain partners.
- Understand customers’ technical requirements and work with engineering and estimating colleagues to shape proposals and quotations.
- Build and manage a qualified opportunity pipeline, keeping CRM records and forecasts accurate.
- Support bids, proposals and commercial discussions.
- Represent Envisage at customer meetings, industry events and trade exhibitions.
- Track progress against agreed targets, including customer engagement, bid success and contract wins.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines technical understanding with the drive to develop relationships and win business.
You’ll need:
- A proven track record in business development or technical sales within engineering, manufacturing or related services.
- Evidence of securing new business and growing existing customer accounts.
- A recognised engineering-related qualification.
- The ability to understand technical capabilities and explain their value to customers.
- Confidence working with engineering, procurement and senior leadership teams.
- Strong commercial judgement, including an understanding of pricing and margins.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required.

Experience in aerospace or defence would be particularly valuable. Knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, jigs and fixtures, metal forming, composites, prototyping or low-volume manufacturing would also be an advantage.
