Business Development Manager
Location: Rotherham
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus

This is a brand-new role with a leading global manufacturer, created due to continued business growth, offering the chance to make a genuine impact within a market where the company is already the largest UK manufacturer of their field supplying most local authorities across the country. If you're commercially sharp, resilient, and ready to own a national public-sector sales territory, this could be exactly the opportunity you're looking for.
What’s on offer:
- Basic salary up to £50,000
- Company car or car allowance
- Bonus of up to 20% of annual salary, paid quarterly
- Hybrid working — 2-3 days on-site in Rotherham, home, plus time visiting customers
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Life insurance and 7% pension contribution
- Hours: 8:30am-5pm

Duties of a Business Development Manager:
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the public sector, primarily through formal bidding and tender processes
- Managing longer, multi-stage sales cycles from initial approach through to contract award
- Growing and developing existing local authority accounts, identifying opportunities to expand contract value
- Building strong relationships with key decision-makers within local authorities nationally
- Preparing and leading on tender submissions and contract negotiations
- Staying ahead of market trends across packaging, waste and environmental services
- Reporting on pipeline, activity and performance

Requirements of a Business Development Manager:
- A proven track record in business development or sales, ideally with experience of tender/bid-led sales cycles
- Background in packaging, waste, environmental services or public sector sales would be highly beneficial, though open on sector
- A genuine self-starter with strong initiative and drive
- Comfortable both winning new business and growing existing accounts
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Full UK Driving licence
