Role: Business Development Manager

Salary: £70k plus vehicle & benefits

Job Status: Full Time/ Permanent

Role Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing Contract Cleaning business with a developing reputation and portfolio which is UK wide.

As part of their continued growth strategy, our client is looking to appoint an experienced National Business Development Manager to take ownership of new business development. This is a key commercial hire, offering the opportunity to play a significant role in expanding the company’s national service offering and securing high-value, multi-site cleaning contracts.

The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK and will have the autonomy to develop new opportunities nationally, supported by an experienced operational and senior management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, developing, and converting new contract cleaning opportunities across the UK
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of regional, multi-site and national prospects
  • Targeting key decision-makers across Facilities Management, property, procurement, and estates functions
  • Developing relationships with prospective clients from initial introduction through to contract award
  • Managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, site visits, solution development, proposal creation, and negotiation
  • Leading formal tenders, RFPs, presentations, and client pitches as and when required
  • Working closely with operational, estimating and mobilisation teams to create commercially competitive and deliverable solutions
  • Developing pricing strategies and ensuring opportunities meet agreed margin and commercial expectations
  • Conducting site surveys and gaining a detailed understanding of individual client requirements
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity reporting
  • Monitoring market activity, competitor positioning, and new business opportunities
  • Representing the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings
  • Supporting the smooth handover of newly won contracts into mobilisation and operations

  • Proven Business Development experience within contract cleaning
  • Strong knowledge of the UK cleaning services market
  • A demonstrable track record of winning significant new cleaning contracts
  • Experience developing and securing multi-site and national opportunities
  • Strong tender, proposal and commercial negotiation experience
  • The ability to build relationships and influence senior-level decision-makers
  • Excellent commercial awareness and a strong understanding of pricing and margin
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to new business development
  • The ability to work independently in a national, fully remote role
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

We are specifically looking for candidates who have a proven background in selling outsourced contract cleaning services, a strong understanding of the UK property market, an established network of relevant contacts, and a demonstrable track record of securing new business.
