Stoneline UK & Palezzo | London
The Opportunity
Stoneline and Palezzo are seeking a proactive, commercially minded Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities across the UK construction, property development and interior design sectors.
Stoneline specialises in premium natural stone, offering material supply, fabrication and installation for high-end residential, commercial and hospitality projects. Palezzo is our bespoke stone-composite surface brand, offering distinctive, customisable materials for architectural and interior applications.
This is a new-business-focused role for an individual who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities and developing a strong commercial network. The successful candidate will take ownership of their business development activity, proactively identifying prospective clients, initiating conversations and creating opportunities that translate into measurable revenue.
The role will focus on three core audiences: contractors, property developers and interior design practices, with a particular emphasis on expanding our relationships within the contractor and developer markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead generation and business development
- Proactively identify, research and approach new business opportunities across the UK construction, property development and interior design sectors.
- Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of prospective clients, including main contractors, specialist contractors, property developers, interior design studios and architecture practices.
- Conduct regular outbound prospecting, including cold calling, targeted email outreach, LinkedIn engagement and face-to-face introductions.
- Identify upcoming projects where natural stone or Palezzo surfaces could be specified, supplied or installed.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers, including commercial directors, procurement managers, project directors, estimators, design managers and interior design principals.
- Arrange introductory meetings and develop opportunities from initial contact through to qualified project leads and commercial enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of prospecting activity, meetings, follow-ups and opportunities within the company's CRM or agreed reporting system.
2. Contractor and Developer relationship development
- Build a strong network of contractor and developer contacts, prioritising organisations undertaking premium residential, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use projects.
- Identify contractors and developers with relevant project pipelines and establish Stoneline and Palezzo as preferred supply-chain and material partners.
- Arrange introductory meetings with commercial, procurement, pre-construction and project teams.
- Understand how contractors and developers procure, tender and appoint material suppliers, fabricators and installation partners.
- Identify opportunities to register Stoneline and Palezzo with relevant procurement teams and approved supplier lists.
- Develop relationships that create repeat business and early visibility of forthcoming projects.
- Monitor tender opportunities, project announcements and planning activity to identify potential leads before projects reach the procurement stage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Identify opportunities for both brands to be incorporated into project specifications, material schedules and design proposals.
- Build long-term relationships that generate referrals, specifications and future commercial enquiries.

- Qualify opportunities based on project suitability, timing, decision-making authority, potential value and likelihood of conversion.
- Provide regular reports on business development activity, pipeline growth, key relationships and expected revenue opportunities.
- Work closely with the sales, estimating and project teams to progress qualified opportunities into enquiries, quotations and orders.
- Analyse the effectiveness of prospecting activities and continuously refine the approach to maximise commercial results.
Candidate Experience
- Proven business development or new-business sales experience within the construction, architectural materials, natural stone, interior finishes, building products or a closely related industry.
- Demonstrable experience identifying and winning new business rather than relying primarily on an existing customer portfolio.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how construction projects are procured and delivered.
- Confidence in cold calling, initiating conversations with senior decision-makers and securing meetings with prospective clients.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations to both technical and design-led audiences.
- Experience organising and delivering client meetings, product presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions or similar engagement activities.
- A highly self-motivated, organised and proactive approach, with the discipline to manage a territory and workload independently.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills, supported by a persistent and commercially focused approach to follow-up.
- The ability to identify opportunities, qualify leads and translate business development activity into a measurable sales pipeline.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
