Business Development Manager
A distinctive and highly regarded London law firm is recruiting a Business Development Manager for a newly created role within its Marketing & Business Development team, reporting to the Head of Business Development.
This is a broad role with genuine ownership, combining business development support for a portfolio of practice groups with responsibility for developing the firm's alumni programme.
Business Development
You will act as the lead business development contact for a defined group of practices, ensuring they are well connected to the firm's wider business development activity. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating business development activity across directories, pitches, client targeting, events and thought leadership
- Connecting supported practices to firmwide campaigns and initiatives
- Identifying opportunities for collaboration and cross-selling across the firm
- Sharing ideas and successful approaches across the practices you support
- Tracking progress against agreed objectives

Alumni
You will take ownership of the firm's alumni programme, a network of more than 700 former lawyers and business services professionals, developing it as a source of relationships, referrals, introductions and recruitment opportunities. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering the alumni strategy
- Improving alumni data, segmentation and reporting
- Building relationships with priority alumni
- Delivering alumni communications, events and engagement activity
- Measuring and reporting on programme effectiveness

Alumni experience is preferable but not essential.
Experience Sought
- At least 5 years' business development experience within a legal or professional services environment
- Experience working with senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness and business development planning skills
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Experience of alumni, membership, network or community programmes would be an advantage
