Are you excited about the potential of emerging technologies and how they can reshape entire industries? Would you like to be part of a team building real-world quantum solutions for customers across defence, telecom, finance, energy, and transport? Are you willing to drive and shape what this technology becomes next?

QMill builds quantum-powered solutions for security and optimisation problems across defence, telecom, finance, energy, and transport. We turn promising quantum algorithms into products organisations can deploy, running on today's real quantum computers and grounded in genuine quantum innovations. QMill is headquartered in the greater Helsinki area in Finland, one of the world's leading quantum community hubs, and we are growing internationally through an expanding network of sites, with the UK among the first. Our team brings together people of many different nationalities. We are well networked internationally and actively cooperating with the leading players in the field.

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the day-to-day running of QMill's new UK office and drive our customer relations across the UK. You will be based in the UK, reporting to the Head of Business Development & Strategy, and working closely with the wider Business Development team as well as our R&D and Sales teams. Your precise work location can be negotiated.

While a background in quantum computing is not mandatory, we're looking for someone with experience in business development within a deep tech, scale-up, or technology-driven environment, who has a genuine interest in the potential of quantum computing and is eager to learn more about this groundbreaking field. The ideal candidate also has a deep understanding of the cybersecurity solutions market in the following sectors: telecommunication, defence, banking and financial services.

What will you do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of QMill's UK office and act as line manager for the UK team
  • Monitor the team's progress, managing risks and dependencies
  • Engage closely with customers, partners, and other stakeholders, helping ensure customer projects move forward and milestones are met on time
  • Build and maintain a strong UK sales pipeline together with Sales, contributing directly to QMill's revenue growth
  • Track local funding opportunities, such as R&D and scale-up grants
  • Prepare materials and present them to company leadership, investors, customers, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Support the wider Business Development team and QMill leadership across business development and strategy topics, contributing to QMill's international expansion
  • Support UK office governance, including compliance with local regulation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
