Job Description:

Hybrid | Customer-facing role | Regular UK travel

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities within our Animal Health segment, spanning our Sciantec and Sci-Tech analytical services businesses.

The role will focus on driving new customer and market opportunities across animal health, animal nutrition, veterinary, poultry, livestock and pet food, building a strong pipeline and converting opportunities that have the right strategic and commercial fit for the business.

About the business

Sciantec and Sci-Tech are specialist laboratory businesses providing analytical testing services to customers across the animal health and nutrition sectors.

Our laboratories support customers across areas including animal feed, pet food, poultry, livestock and veterinary markets, providing reliable analytical testing backed by strong scientific expertise. As part of Cawood Scientific and the wider EBI group, we take a long-term, customer-focused approach to how we operate and grow.

The role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing new business and creating sustainable, profitable growth across our target Animal Health markets.

You’ll spend meaningful time in the market with customers and prospects, building relationships, understanding unmet needs and identifying where our capabilities can create genuine customer value.

This isn’t about chasing every opportunity. You’ll qualify opportunities rigorously, focus effort where we can win and build long-term value, and work closely with our Commercial, Technical, Operations and Product teams to turn customer needs into compelling propositions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
