Business Development Manager – Hard Asset Finance
Location: South West England & M5 Corridor (Devon, Somerset, Avon & Gloucestershire) / South Wales
Position Type: Full-time
Package: Competitive Base Salary + Uncapped Commission + Comprehensive Benefits Package
About The Business
We are representing a well-established, market-leading group of independent asset finance specialists. Combining local market knowledge with the backing and leverage of a national platform, the group delivers tailored hard asset finance solutions to SMEs across the UK.
Due to strategic growth plans across the UK our client, are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team. This role offers high levels of autonomy, full operational backing from a dedicated internal administration team, and ongoing strategic support from an accessible Sales Manager.
The Opportunity
As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of expanding the group's regional foot-print. You will act as a key commercial catalyst, driving growth across both end-user client networks and vendor/supplier channels.

- Pipeline Development: Prospect, cold call, and pitch to key SME decision-makers to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Deal Structuring & Execution: Handle initial inquiries, generate tailored quotes, package finance proposals for funders, and follow up through to completion.
- Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with equipment suppliers, dealers, and end-users across the South West territory.
- Commercial Strategy: Identify market differentiators, collaborate on targeted marketing campaigns, and open new regional distribution channels.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all transactions and customer interactions strictly align with regulatory standards and group conduct rules.

What We Are Looking For
- Proven track record in business development within Asset Finance or commercial lending.
- Exceptional negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills.
- Strong understanding of market principles, SME finance needs, and funder requirements.
- Highly self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous, target-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric, resilient approach.
