We work with customers across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, construction and industry, providing high-quality, engineered solutions designed around their individual requirements.

We are growing and looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to help us develop new markets, win new customers and grow existing relationships.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK. You will build relationships with customers, understand their requirements and work with our engineering and production teams to deliver the right solution. This is a hands-on sales role involving customer visits, networking, presentations, quotations and negotiations, with a strong focus on winning new business and developing long-term customer relationships.

Experience within racking, storage or mezzanine is desirable, but not essential. We are equally interested in sales professionals with experience in engineering, steel, manufacturing, material processing, warehousing, logistics or other technical B2B environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Understand customer requirements and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through to order.
  • Prepare and present quotations and proposals.
  • Visit customers and attend meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
  • Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for additional business.
  • Work closely with engineering, estimating and production teams.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity and identify new opportunities.
  • Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in business development or B2B sales, with a track record of winning new business and achieving targets.
  • Experience in a technical or industrial sector is desirable, particularly racking/storage, engineering, steel, manufacturing, material processing, warehousing or logistics.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially driven, proactive and confident dealing with customers at all levels.
  • Able to understand technical products and communicate their benefits clearly.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
