We are seeking an experienced, driven, and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead growth for our Bradfield, NSW operation. This is a high impact, field-based role where you will take ownership of expanding our customer base, strengthening key relationships, and delivering strong revenue outcomes.

About The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business and growing existing accounts across NSW. You will work closely with operational and leadership teams to position Big Chief Hire as a trusted partner within the civil, construction, and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, identifying new business opportunities across NSW
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within civil, construction, and major projects
  • Drive revenue growth to meet and exceed monthly and annual targets
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with customers, stakeholders, influencers, and industry partners
  • Position yourself as a trusted, solutions-focused partner within the equipment hire industry.
  • Increase engagement across major projects, Tier 1 builders, and civil contractors throughout NSW
  • Take full ownership of sales performance across your allocated equipment portfolio.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, prepare accurate quotes, and provide tailored hire and sales solutions.
  • Contribute to overall business objectives and strategic growth plans.

About You

You are commercially driven and comfortable operating autonomously in the field. You enjoy being on the road, meeting customers, and uncovering opportunities, and you take pride in delivering results. You will also bring:

  • Ability to understand customer needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Proven sales experience, ideally within civil construction, earthmoving, or equipment hire.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a field-based role while collaborating with the broader team.
  • Strong organisational skills and a high-performance mindset.
  • Demonstrated success winning new business in a B2B environment.
  • A customer-first approach and commitment to service excellence.
  • High energy, positivity, and a hardworking attitude.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and be coached along the way.
  • A current driver’s licence.
