Business Development Manager – Beauty Packaging
£50K–£70K (depending on experience) + £4.7K car allowance
London base, with UK and international travel (flexible working)
Blush & Bloom are partnering exclusively with a global beauty solutions business to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager who will drive new customer acquisition across primary and secondary packaging.
This is a highly proactive, new-business-focused position for someone with an established understanding of the beauty or FMCG packaging market. Working closely with technical, product development, sourcing and manufacturing teams, you will create compelling propositions and convert prospects into sustainable, long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective beauty and personal care customers requiring primary or secondary packaging solutions.
- Open new commercial conversations and develop contacts into long-term, revenue-generating partnerships.
- Lead the full business development process, from initial outreach and opportunity qualification through to proposal, negotiation and handover.
- Explore each prospect’s product plans, commercial objectives and packaging requirements to identify where the business can add value.
- Bring together expertise from design, sourcing, product development and manufacturing to create tailored responses to customer briefs.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations that clearly communicate the proposed solution and its commercial benefits.
- Develop a strong network across the beauty packaging market and represent the business confidently at relevant meetings and industry events.
- Monitor changes in brand activity, packaging innovation, sustainability expectations and competitor positioning to uncover new opportunities.
- Review the outcome of pitches and proposals, using the findings to strengthen future approaches.

Key Requirements:

- At least five years’ experience within sales, account management or business development.
- Strong experience within primary or secondary packaging, ideally serving the beauty, cosmetics or personal care industry.
- A demonstrable track record of winning new customers and delivering against commercial targets.
- Highly proactive and resilient, with the confidence to open doors and create opportunities from scratch.
- Strong networking, relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Able to understand customer needs and translate them into commercially viable packaging solutions.
- Confident preparing and delivering presentations, pitches and proposals.
- Comfortable analysing sales figures, market information and performance data.
- Creative, curious and solutions-focused, with a collaborative working style.
