Business Development Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Location: UK (Hybrid/Home-Based with UK-wide travel)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Help Power the Future

Teconnex is looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business across the UK and selected international markets.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a technical sales background in electrical engineering, energy storage or power systems who enjoys building relationships, developing new business and delivering innovative customer solutions.

You'll play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing strategic customer accounts and helping shape the future growth of our BESS business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts across the UK and selected international markets.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify and qualify new prospects through networking, industry events, referrals and proactive business development.
  • Lead customer meetings to understand technical and commercial requirements.
  • Develop and present tailored BESS solutions in collaboration with our engineering and production teams.
  • Prepare competitive proposals, quotations and commercial offers.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders.
  • Represent Teconnex at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
  • Share market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and future business strategy.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of secured projects to delivery teams.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial skills with technical credibility.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within BESS, renewable energy, electrical engineering or power systems.
  • A successful track record of winning new business and growing customer accounts.
  • Experience selling technical products, systems or engineered solutions in a B2B environment.
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to engage with both technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK, with occasional international travel.

Desirable

  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification.
  • Experience within battery storage, renewable energy, EV charging or wider energy infrastructure.
  • Degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional sales or commercial qualification.

A competitive package + company car, profit share, and be part of an employee owned business. Location is Keighley, west yorkshire, but this is a remote role with travel to meetings onsite as BAU.
