Business Development Manager: BioTechnology

Location: Field Based (UK) : Home Based with Regular Customer Visits

Salary: GBP 45,000 - GBP 55,000 + Commission

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

The Opportunity

Join a specialist provider of laboratory equipment operating across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and academic sectors.

  • Take ownership of business development activities for a well-established company with an excellent reputation in the life sciences market.
  • Work remotely, managing your own diary while developing new business opportunities throughout the UK.
  • Play a key role in supporting the continued growth of a business specialising in chromatography and laboratory instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business opportunities and develop relationships with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, contract research, and academic organisations.
  • Promote laboratory equipment services, maintenance contracts, repairs, and specialist technical support solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and quotation through to negotiation and order conversion.
  • Maintain and develop CRM pipelines, forecasting activity, and identifying opportunities for future growth.

About You

  • Previous experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, Account Management, or Scientific Sales.
  • Understanding of laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, chromatography systems, or life science technologies.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to effectively manage a home-based, field sales territory.
