Overview

MCS Group is collaborating with an innovative provider of intelligent building controls and smart infrastructure technology to appoint a Business Development Manager for Northern Ireland.

This position suits a results-driven sales specialist with a solid technical foundation and strong commercial instincts. The successful individual will focus on originating new business streams, shaping specifications at pre-construction stage, and promoting connected, insight-led building systems to contractors, consultants, and portfolio owners undertaking modernisation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accelerate regional sales performance across BMS projects, retrofit schemes, and integrated smart building deployments
  • Establish and deepen strategic partnerships with M&E contractors, consulting engineers, and principal contractors, while also engaging directly with asset owners and facilities leaders
  • Engage at early design phase to guide system selection, advocating IoT-enabled, cloud-integrated solutions in place of conventional DDC platforms
  • Generate and manage a structured opportunity pipeline, overseeing the bid process end-to-end from qualification through tender submission and award
  • Lead educational engagement with clients, including CPD presentations, to demonstrate value in areas such as energy analytics, digital dashboards, occupancy tracking, and system interoperability
  • Work alongside technical and estimating teams to develop accurate costings, detailed proposals, and technical submissions based on project drawings and specifications
  • Monitor industry developments including AI-enabled fault detection, subscription-based building analytics platforms, and decarbonisation strategies
  • Hold full commercial accountability for projects ranging from smaller £50k installations to major programmes exceeding £1m

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
