Role Description
As a Business Development Manager – Business Finance, you will focus on generating new business opportunities and building strong relationships with UK SMEs and larger enterprises. In this full-time, on-site role based in London, you will:
- Identify funding needs
- Present suitable finance solutions
- Guide clients through the application process

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:


Get help with your application

- Managing your own pipeline
- Conducting meetings and calls with prospects
- Preparing proposals
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient onboarding and delivery of finance products
- Conducting market research
- Nurturing leads
- Maintaining accurate CRM records
- Meeting individual and team revenue targets
- Providing clear, professional communication to clients at every stage
You will also represent Excel Capital Group at networking events and industry forums to strengthen brand presence and generate new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in business finance, commercial lending, or related financial services, with the ability to understand and explain funding products to business clients.
- Strong business development and sales skills, including prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on clear, transparent discussions and long-term client partnerships.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess business needs, interpret financial information, and propose suitable funding solutions.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software, and comfort working with digital tools to manage leads and track performance.
- Ability to work on-site in London, manage time effectively, and perform in a target-driven environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience working with UK SMEs or in a similar business-to-business finance role is highly beneficial.
