Business Development Manager | Commodity & FX Hedging

Central London (on-site)
to £50,000 + commission

Already selling FX or hedging solutions to UK corporates? This is your route into commodities.

If you broker FX or sell financial products to UK businesses, you already have the skill that matters most in this role. You can sit down with a finance director, understand their exposure and show them how to manage it. My client wants to put that skill to work in commodity risk management.

They are an award-winning, FCA-regulated broker in the City of London. They help UK businesses protect themselves against commodity and currency volatility. Their sales team is growing. They are looking for an ambitious Senior Sales Associate to win new corporate clients in the agricultural and softs sectors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Why this move makes sense

  • Your FX knowledge stays relevant. Clients here hedge currency as well as commodity exposure, so you will build on what you know rather than start again.
  • You will work closely with desk leads, traders, structuring and compliance. This gives you a genuine route into commodity markets with experienced people around you.
  • You will own your pipeline, your partnerships and your revenue target from day one.

The role

  • Build your pipeline across grains, oilseeds, softs and dairy. Book high-quality first meetings with corporate decision-makers for Desk Leads and Traders.
  • Lead commercial calls with prospects yourself. Assess their commodity and currency exposure, hedging needs and appetite for risk before introducing the trading team.
  • Develop partnerships with industry bodies, trade associations and other partners to open new sources of deal flow.
  • Own an individual revenue target linked to booked volumes, client onboarding and partner channels.
  • Work with structuring, trading and compliance to guide clients from first conversation to trade execution.
  • Research new market opportunities and contribute to market updates for clients.

Who this suits

  • You sell FX, hedging or other financial products to UK corporates.
  • You have a track record of winning new business: booking meetings, running your own commercial calls and converting them.
  • You are comfortable discussing risk with CFOs, finance directors and business owners.
  • You are curious about commodity markets. Agricultural or commodities knowledge is helpful but not essential.
