Job title: Business Development Manager

Location: Home based/remote with a requirement to attend monthly/quarterly meetings in our offices in Manchester, Croydon and Tewkesbury plus client meetings and events across the UK

Salary: From £55,000+ per annum dependant on experience + performance bonus scheme

Status: Permanent

Working Hours: Mon- Fri - 37.5 hours

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join HCML and play a key role in driving growth across the occupational health and wellbeing sector. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially driven sales professional with a proven track record in corporate healthcare sales to help shape the future direction of our business.

Working with intermediaries, large corporates, insurers, and existing clients, you will use your industry expertise to identify new opportunities, develop strategic relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, operations, and bid management to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and strengthen HCML's market position.

This role offers the opportunity to represent a leading provider in the health and wellbeing sector, influence business strategy, and benefit from a competitive commission structure while making a meaningful impact on the growth and success of HCML.

Purpose of Role:

Targeting the intermediary market, large corporates, insurers and expanding our existing client base, the successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the occupational health and wellbeing sector that will support and influence HCML sales strategies. This is an exciting role for someone with a proven track record of health services sales to help shape the future of HCML.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities from prospecting to sale to deliver new business and achieve personal sales targets.
  • Use industry knowledge and experience to support the creation and execution of sales strategies designed to increase HCML’s market share and presence.
  • Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally using the appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the Groups marketing function to ensure synergy and consistency in the approach to new business within the corporate healthcare market.
  • Support Bid Manager with tender opportunities from bid writing to presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with operations to ensure new customer requirements are understood and delivered.
  • Travel as required to meet the demands of a customer facing role.
  • Represent HCML at conferences, trade shows and other events as required,

Person Specification:

Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years in corporate healthcare sales
  • Knowledge and experience of Private Healthcare market, with particular experience in Occupational Health

Desirable

  • Worked recently in similar role and & business with extensive knowledge of the industry

Skills & Knowledge:

Essential

  • Demonstrable track record of driving revenue growth through new business
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office – creating and producing regular pipeline and sales reporting

Desirable

  • Experience of working with Microsoft dynamics for reporting purposes
