Business Development Manager

About the job you're considering

This is a mid to senior-level ‘360 sales’ role: driving lead generation, qualifying clients, and supporting proposal development by understanding client-specific requirements. You will own the entire sales cycle from opportunity identification and qualification through to closing new business.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team focused on one of the fastest-growing opportunities in the technology market. In this role, you will leverage your industry insight, proven track record, and knowledge of AWS technologies, AI, and the wider technology consulting market to acquire new customers by utilizing Sogeti’s market-leading offerings and global delivery capability.

We are looking for individuals with experience targeting rapid-growth technology opportunities in partnership with AWS, competing with boutique system integrators, consulting and service providers, and cloud-native SaaS companies.

As Gen-AI dominates the headlines and leaders demand innovation, our clients require technology partners that can help them unlock potential, mitigate risks, and manage costs. This is the challenge we set ourselves and central to how we go to market with our technology partners and delivery capabilities.

Hybrid working: Your work location will vary between company offices, client sites, and home (not 100% remote).

Your role

  • Lead Generation: Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Client Qualification: Ensure prospects meet engagement criteria.
  • Proposal Support: Assist in preparing tailored proposals.
  • Consultative Sales Approach: Apply solution-based selling to address client needs.
  • Deal closure: Working with the pre-sales and solutioning teams alongside supporting functions to take opportunities from qualified lead through to closed business.
  • CRM Knowledge: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is an advantage.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Sector Experience: Private sector, mid-market focus.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with sales, marketing, and delivery teams.
  • Agility & Complexity: Comfortable with complex solutions and an agile mindset.
  • Self-Starter: Entrepreneurial approach to building pipeline and achieving targets.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and client requirements.
  • Experience working within the AWS ecosystem and in collaboration with the AWS partner sales team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
