We're looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving growth by developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and delivering tailored hire solutions that add real value to our customers.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of Major Account customers, strengthening existing partnerships while proactively identifying opportunities to introduce additional products, services and solutions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences, maximise revenue opportunities and support the continued growth of the business.

Success in this role will come from building trusted relationships, understanding your customers' businesses and becoming their partner of choice for hire equipment and support services.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing and growing a portfolio of Major Account customers.
  • Building long-term strategic relationships with key decision makers.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through cross-selling and upselling Speedy's products and services.
  • Producing and delivering strategic account plans to achieve sustainable growth.
  • Winning new business within target sectors and markets.
  • Collaborating with operational and support teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Monitoring market activity and identifying opportunities to strengthen Speedy's position.
  • Managing sales performance, forecasting and pipeline activity to achieve business targets.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor, ensuring customers receive innovative and commercially beneficial solutions.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in business development, strategic account management or major account sales.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Evidence of developing and delivering strategic account plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Financial and commercial acumen.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and deliver results.
  • The ability to adapt to change within a fast-paced environment.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A commitment to supporting your business unit and team in delivering our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
