Job Description

You will be responsible for driving sales and business growth across key UK teaching hospitals and tertiary referral centres, focusing on Materialise's Custom Orthopaedics and CMF portfolio. This role requires strong commercial skills, excellent clinical knowledge, and the ability to develop long-term partnerships with surgeons and healthcare professionals. You will own the commercial strategy for your territory, balancing short-term business objectives with long-term market development while acting as a trusted partner to customers.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and grow new and existing business for aMace custom hip implants, Glenius custom shoulder implants, and the Materialise CMF portfolio.
  • Own and deliver against UK sales targets, with clear accountability for revenue growth, market penetration, and profitability.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across Orthopaedics and CMF within NHS and private healthcare institutions.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with orthopaedic and CMF surgeons, particularly within leading NHS teaching hospitals and tertiary referral centres.
  • Define and execute short- and long-term business plans to accelerate growth across the UK territory.
  • Act as a clinical and commercial expert, confidently discussing patient-specific solutions, complex surgical workflows, and the clinical value of personalized medical devices.
  • Support surgeons throughout the customer journey, from opportunity identification and clinical discussions to case planning and successful implementation.
  • Represent Materialise at national congresses, trade shows, educational events, and surgeon meetings as a credible ambassador for the company.
  • Collaborate closely with international Commercial, Clinical, Marketing, and Product teams, providing market insights to support innovation and business development.
  • Travel extensively (approximately 60% of the role) to support customer engagement, clinical cases, and business development activities, with the remaining time spent working remotely or from the Southampton office.
  • Actively contribute to team discussions, share best practices, and proactively identify opportunities to improve commercial performance and customer experience.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience within the medical device industry, preferably in Orthopaedics, Spine, Trauma, Maxillofacial, or other complex surgical specialties.
  • Strong understanding of orthopaedic and/or CMF surgical procedures. Experience with patient-specific or customized medical devices is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets while developing sustainable territory growth.
  • Established network of surgeons and key stakeholders within NHS teaching hospitals and tertiary referral centres is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex, high-value clinical solutions through a consultative and value-based sales approach.
  • Strong business planning and territory management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across the UK.
