About the Role
Nexus BioQuest is seeking a commercially minded, proactive, and highly organised Business Development Manager to support lead generation, account growth, and business development activities across Europe and North America. This role is ideal for an individual with strong relationship-building skills, an established network within the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, and experience supporting commercial teams through targeted outreach, market intelligence, CRM management, and sales operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and developing new business opportunities, supporting strategic account penetration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Business Development
- Leverage an established network of industry contacts and previous customers to identify and generate new commercial opportunities.
- Conduct targeted outreach campaigns through LinkedIn, email, industry platforms, and professional networks to engage prospective clients.
- Research and qualify new prospect organisations through company due diligence and market assessment.
- Review market resources including LinkedIn, Fierce Biotech, GlobalData, to identify emerging opportunities and target customers.
- Generate, qualify, and nurture leads through multiple channels and support conversion into active sales opportunities.
- Work closely with Business Development Executives to advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
- Support strategic account penetration initiatives through targeted outreach and relationship-building activities.

Conferences & Networking
- Plan, coordinate, and support participation in conferences, vendor days, partnering meetings, and industry events.
- Represent Nexus BioQuest at key events, building relationships with prospective clients and strategic partners.
- Manage post-event follow-up activities and ensure leads are appropriately captured and actioned.
CRM & Sales Operations
- Manage and maintain the company CRM, ensuring customer and prospect information is accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Track sales activities, pipeline progression, and customer interactions.
Market Intelligence & Commercial Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand across therapeutic areas, modalities, and research services.
- Analyse won and lost opportunities to identify market trends, customer preferences, and areas of commercial growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Introduce appropriate Business Development Executives and scientific subject matter experts once qualified opportunities have been identified.
- Collaborate with scientific and commercial teams to ensure a seamless customer journey from initial engagement through project initiation.
- Support the preparation of client discussions, proposal development, and Statements of Work (SOWs) by coordinating information gathering and opportunity management.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in inside sales, business development, account management within pre-clinical CRO’s
- Established network within Biopharma sector preferred.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of lead generation, sales pipeline management, and business development processes.
- Experience planning, attending and representing organisations at industry conferences and commercial events.
Education
- MSc in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology or related science required.
Salary
- £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
