Business Development Manager

Description

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive growth across our aluminium extrusion, fabricated products, and value-added Materials as a Service (MaaS) offering. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with strong aluminium extrusion expertise to identify new markets, create opportunities, and turn customer needs into profitable, long-term partnerships.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will take ownership of developing new and existing business across a national customer base. You will combine market insight, relationship building, and commercial drive to broaden our product and service portfolio, deliver sales targets, and maximise profitable growth.

This role can be based remotely but you will be expected to travel across the UK and to our sites on occasion. A car allowance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing revenue streams across tk Extrusion and MaaS
  • Identifying and converting opportunities in new markets, with new clients, and through new partnerships
  • Creating and delivering growth strategies that balance financial performance with customer satisfaction
  • Building trusted relationships with new and existing customers and shaping proposals around their requirements
  • Producing sales forecasts, maintaining a strong opportunity pipeline, and delivering agreed targets
  • Conducting market research and using insight to uncover future growth opportunities
  • Leading customer meetings and business reviews covering demand, stock levels, performance, and MaaS opportunities
  • Promoting our capabilities and tailoring solutions to meet customer needs
  • Preparing sales contracts and maintaining accurate records of activity, revenue, and invoicing
  • Coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure contract commitments are delivered
  • Working with Credit Control to support cash collection and appropriate credit limits

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • A proven track record of success in sales and business development
  • Strong subject matter expertise in aluminium extrusion
  • Good market knowledge and experience supporting customers
  • Confident negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to analyse opportunities, plan effectively, and manage your time across a national remit
  • A motivated, adaptable approach with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to perform effectively under pressure and collaborate with colleagues across the business
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel
