Business Development Manager – Enterprise Sales
Location: Birmingham (remote initially, moving to hybrid)
Our client is a fast-growing technology scale-up in the public safety and security technology space, with a presence across the UK, Ireland and the US. As they continue to expand their enterprise footprint, they're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new business into large organisations.
This is a hunting role at heart. You'll be given the space to map the market, identify the right organisations to target, and build a pipeline from the ground up — then work it through to revenue, either by setting up qualified meetings for the Account Executive team or by closing deals yourself.
What you'll be doing
- Researching and mapping the enterprise market to identify target organisations and the right stakeholders within them
- Building and running outbound outreach campaigns (email, phone, social) to open conversations with prospects
- Qualifying opportunities and booking meetings for the Account Executive team
- Owning and closing a portion of deals yourself, from first contact through to signature
- Keeping the CRM up to date and feeding market intelligence back into the wider sales and marketing strategy
- Working closely with sales leadership to refine targeting and messaging as the market strategy evolves

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
