At Alchemy we are partnering with an established and growing freight forwarding business seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business across its multimodal freight services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven freight professional who enjoys developing new client relationships and winning business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, target and secure new freight forwarding business across the UK.
- Sell multimodal import and export solutions across sea, air and road freight.
- Develop a strong pipeline of prospective customers through business development.
- Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with potential and existing clients.
- Build long-term commercial relationships and identify opportunities to increase account revenue.
- Prepare competitive freight solutions and commercial proposals based on customer requirements.
- Work closely with operational and pricing teams to deliver competitive solutions while maintaining healthy margins.
- Utilise the company's international network and LCL consolidation services to develop new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline and forecasting information.
- Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, networking events and industry functions.

Requirements:

- Minimum 3 years' face-to-face business development experience within freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of international import and export freight.
- Experience selling sea freight is highly desirable.
- Understanding of multimodal freight solutions, including sea, air and road.
- Demonstrable track record of winning and developing new business.
- Existing industry relationships or a transferable customer network would be a significant advantage.
