The role will include:
- Developing relationships across the Army, Royal Navy and RAF

- Building relationships with Programme Directors and senior Defence stakeholders
- Understanding customer cyber programmes, priorities, budgets and decision makers
- Turning relationships and market knowledge into new business opportunities
- Owning opportunities from initial conversation through to contract award
- Leading and contributing to bids, including hands on bid writing
- Developing relationships with primes, SMEs and strategic partners
- Growing existing accounts and identifying follow on opportunities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ll need a good understanding of the Defence Cyber Security landscape and enough technical awareness to confidently discuss cyber programmes, challenges and requirements with customers and delivery teams.
You could already work in Business Development, Capture or Client Management. Equally, you might currently be delivering within a Defence cyber programme and be ready to use your relationships and knowledge in a more commercial role.

What matters is that you understand UK Defence, know who’s who within your area, have credible cyber/security knowledge and can build strong relationships with customers and partners.
Experience and existing relationships across the Army, Royal Navy or RAF would be particularly valuable.
This is a predominantly remote role with considerable autonomy and no micromanagement. Customer meetings and occasional travel to Bristol or London can be managed around your own diary.
Current UK Security Clearance (SC), or eligibility to obtain it, is required.
If you know the Defence cyber landscape, understand the programmes and people behind it, and want to use that knowledge to help shape and win new work, this could be a great next move.
