Location: UK-wide / Remote with travel

Sector: Defence & Justice

Salary: Competitive market salary + commission + benefits

About North

North builds stronger networks and creates smarter places through intelligent technology solutions and robust network infrastructure. We work across Public Services, Enterprise, Financial Services, and Defence & Justice, delivering technology that makes critical environments safer, smarter, more connected, and easier to manage.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across our Defence & Justice business, with a particular focus on the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Primes, and industry partners.

This is a true new-business role where you'll identify opportunities, build senior relationships, and take ownership of the sales process from initial engagement through to contract award.

You'll work closely with North's senior leadership, sales, and technical teams to develop innovative solutions around networking, physical security, CCTV, access control, video management, analytics, and connected technologies.

The Role

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across Defence & Justice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with MoD, Defence Primes, and industry partners.
  • Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline from prospecting through to contract award.
  • Understand customer challenges and develop tailored technology solutions.
  • Lead opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, working with technical and bid teams.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular pipeline reporting.
  • Keep up to date with Defence technology, market developments, and emerging solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful handover and delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
