Business Development Manager - Drives/Motors
Our client, an established technical business specialising in industrial drives, motors, and related solutions, is looking for a Business Development Manager - Drives/Motors to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a remote South UK-based sales role focused on generating new business, developing existing accounts, and increasing revenue and market share across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new B2B customers through targeted outbound sales activity
- Promote drives, motors, and associated products and services
- Develop existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for account growth
- Build and maintain accurate customer profiles and CRM activity
- Manage opportunities from initial contact through to successful business development
- Achieve agreed sales, revenue, and gross profit targets
- Analyse market share, competitor activity, and customer opportunities
- Work closely with marketing, purchasing, accounts, warehouse, and branch teams
- Produce regular sales, activity, and budget reports
- Identify opportunities to improve internal and external processes and profitability
- Support the development of the South UK sales strategy and future growth plans

Experience Required
- Proven B2B sales or business development experience
- Experience within sales, telesales, or customer-facing technical environments
- Knowledge of drives, motors, or related industrial/electrical products
- Strong ability to identify new business opportunities and develop existing accounts
- Commercially driven with experience working towards sales or margin targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and confident working remotely and independently
- Ability to understand technical products and communicate their benefits to customers
