Business Development Manager – Creative & Live Events

Swindon | Hybrid
Competitive salary + uncapped commission

Are you genuinely at your best when creating new business?

Not simply managing existing accounts, but identifying the right organisations, opening doors, building senior relationships and turning opportunities into valuable, long term partnerships.

We're recruiting for an established creative and live events business with an impressive in-house capability and a track record of delivering sophisticated experiences for major corporate organisations.

As the business continues to evolve, they're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who can help drive the next stage of growth.

This isn't about simply selling events, you'll be targeting sizeable enterprise organisations where there is the scale, complexity and ongoing requirement for the business to add genuine value. Think larger, often multi-site organisations with significant employee populations, meaningful internal event requirements and the potential to develop recurring relationships rather than simply win one-off projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll take ownership of developing your own strategic pipeline: identifying and researching the right prospects, creating an opening, getting in front of senior decision makers and understanding the challenges and opportunities within their organisation.

Behind you is an experienced team spanning creative, technical production, project management and delivery. Your role is to understand the client, create the opportunity and bring the right people together to develop a compelling solution.

Sales cycles can run for six to twelve months or longer, so this isn't about quick transactional wins. We're looking for someone who enjoys developing opportunities over time and has the resilience, curiosity and commercial instinct to keep moving them forward.

Your background could be in live events or experiential, but it doesn't have to be.

We're equally interested in accomplished new business people from creative, marketing, brand communications or creative/content production agencies. You may already be selling complex, bespoke services into exactly the type of enterprise organisations this business wants to reach.

What matters most is that new business is genuinely part of your DNA.

You'll be able to demonstrate how you've built a pipeline from scratch, opened significant corporate relationships, navigated senior stakeholder groups and converted opportunities through consultative rather than transactional selling.

There's plenty to influence too. The business is continuing to sharpen its target market and develop how new business and marketing work together, giving you genuine scope to contribute to the commercial approach rather than simply inherit an established formula.

The role is based in Swindon with hybrid working. Being part of the business and getting to know its people, proposition and capabilities will be particularly important initially, with greater flexibility once you're established.

You'll receive a competitive salary alongside an uncapped commission structure.

If you're a proven new business hunter who knows how to sell a service, we'd like to hear from you, whether you've built that expertise in events or can bring it from an adjacent agency environment.
