Select Talent Group (STG) is partnering with a leading electronics manufacturing business to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with ambitious plans, a strong quality reputation and broad electronics manufacturing capabilities, serving customers across highly regulated industries.

The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and winning new customer opportunities across key sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Medical, Industrial and Automotive.

This is a hands-on, externally focused role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building credible technical-commercial relationships and converting opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across agreed markets and sectors.
  • Build and develop relationships with prospective customers, purchasing teams, engineers and senior decision-makers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and contract award.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy, accurate pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, quality and commercial teams to develop compelling customer solutions.
  • Lead customer presentations, site visits, quotations and commercial discussions.
  • Grow awareness of the business within target accounts and relevant industry networks.
  • Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events across the UK.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and new opportunities within the EMS sector.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within the CRM system.

About You

We are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of winning new business within EMS, electronics manufacturing, PCBA or a closely related technical manufacturing environment. You will likely have:

  • Experience selling electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, box build or related technical services.
  • A strong new-business mindset, with evidence of developing opportunities from first contact through to order.
  • Experience selling into Aerospace & Defence, Medical, Industrial and/or Automotive markets.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence leading negotiations.
  • The ability to build relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • A proactive, self-sufficient approach and comfort working remotely.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly to customers.
