Business Development Manager (EMEA) - IoT Connectivity
About Velos IoT
Velos IoT is a fast-growing, PE-backed global leader in IoT connectivity, supporting more than 17 million connected devices worldwide.
The Role
As our commercial team continues to grow, we're looking for an ambitious, proactive salesperson to join our EMEA team and help us win new customers.
This is a hands-on, outbound new-business role. You'll be responsible for finding potential customers, reaching out to them, creating your own pipeline and managing opportunities through to close.
There are no large volumes of inbound leads waiting to be worked. Success in this role comes from proactive prospecting - researching accounts, picking up the phone, sending thoughtful outbound messages, following up consistently and turning cold prospects into genuine sales opportunities.
Cold calling will be a regular part of your week, alongside email, LinkedIn, networking and referrals. We're looking for someone who enjoys starting conversations, is comfortable speaking to people they haven't met before and isn't easily discouraged by a "no" or no response.
You'll own your opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and close.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Manage your opportunities through the full sales cycle, from first contact to negotiation and close.
- Follow up consistently and maintain momentum across multiple prospects and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity.

- Persistence and resilience: you're comfortable following up and hearing "no".

- Motivation to develop as a full-cycle salesperson and be accountable for your own results.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

IoT connectivity experience is a plus, not a requirement. Experience in cellular IoT, eSIM/eUICC, MNO/MVNO or managed IoT connectivity would be valuable, but we're also interested in strong new-business salespeople from adjacent technology sectors such as telematics and fleet management, connected-device platforms, industrial IoT, telecom and networking, or cloud/network infrastructure.
What matters most is that you can demonstrate that you know how to prospect proactively, build pipeline from scratch and win new customers. We'll help you build the IoT connectivity knowledge.
