Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will lead the growth of the company’s contract security services. Reporting directly to the Directors, the role is dedicated to winning new business in manned guarding, key holding and response, retail security, and other sectors outside of events and festivals.

This role is clearly distinct from our events and festivals work, which sits outside its remit. The focus is on building a strong portfolio of long-term contracts with private and public sector clients. Based at our Head Office near Lincoln, with travel to client and prospect sites as required, this role is suited to a commercially driven security professional with a proven record of securing contracts through tenders, bids, and direct sales.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development (Core Focus)

  • Identify and secure new business in manned guarding, key holding and response, retail security, and other sectors outside of events and festivals
  • Develop and implement a practical growth strategy for these sectors, aligned to company objectives
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities with private and public sector clients
  • Generate leads through research, networking, referrals, and direct approaches
  • Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations
  • Prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable quotations and proposals in consultation with the Directors
  • Achieve agreed revenue and growth targets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
